| Summary | This study examines current urban transformations in a district of post-socialist Budapest often considered as a slum or "ghetto". The poor reputation has been challenged by government policies which are attempting to rejuvenate the area. Whether this urban development strategy can be considered as gentrification or not is the focus of this study. |
