| Title | Film and Socialism in the Post-War Poland |
| Summary | The objective of my thesis is to present the way in which Polish film narrated the history of socialism in the 1945-1960 period. Socialism in Poland of this period can be divided into three phases, each containing a unique connection with film. Pursuing this objective, my argumentation treats film primarily as a historical source. Thus, I apply Hayden White’s neologism “historiophoty” to the analysis of several Polish films and their interaction with society. |
