| Summary | The thesis deals with steady rural-urban migration in Azerbaijan. The thesis explores existing migration literature, compares and evaluates different approaches. The thesis further determines the country-specific factors fuelling rural-urban migration in Azerbaijan and explores the consequences of the phenomenon for rural and urban sectors of the country as well as the overall economy. At the end, the thesis analyzes existing government policies on migration management and recommends different policy options to manage internal migration more effectively in Azerbaijan. |
