Author Kurshitashvili, Nato
Title Comparison of the EU and US lobbying
Summary This thesis contributes to answering to the question to what extent the institutional settings shape the lobbying methods in the EU and the US. In order to answer this question, the thesis, embedded in institutional framework looks at the interaction of the most lobbied institutions in both polities-the European Commission in the EU and the Congress in the US and the impact of institutional decision-making on lobbying outcomes; it analyzes the access to the institutions that accordingly shape pluralist, corporatist or elitist interest group representation and examines the efforts of both political systems to regulate lobbying.
