| Title | The Recognition of States: Case of Kosovo |
| Summary | The aim of this thesis is to examine the recognition of the former Yugoslav republics, particularly the recognition of Kosovo. It provides the reason why the international community did not recognize Kosovo in 1991 but it did recognize in 2008. The argument of this thesis is that the reason why the international community decided to recognize Kosovo in 2008 is because the break up of Yugoslavia was not a closed issue; secession of Kosovo would close the last unresolved status issue. |
