Title IDENTIFYING DETERMINANTS OF CORRUPTION IN HEALTH CARE: A CROSS-COUNTRY ANALYSIS
Summary In this thesis I develop a set of hypothesis on the factors affecting corruption in health care. I test my predictions on the basis of European Union countries sample using OLS method. The results suggest that the level of corruption in health care domain is determined by such specific factors as health expenditures, number of hospitals and number of surgical procedures per 100,000; and by general factors such as level of economic and institutional development, unemployment and inflation. I conclude by providing a set of anti-corruption policies and measures on the basis of my findings.
