| Summary | The purpose of this study is to discuss neither the current identity question of the Karamanlis, nor to find an answer to their long debated matter of origin, but to show how they became an “object of rivalry ” between the Greek and Turkish nationalisms. The study also aims to look at how they have been portrayed in the works of Turkish and Greek scholars. |
