| Summary | This thesis consists of three essays. The first paper examines the choice of exchange rate regime in partially dollarized developing economies. The second paper explores stability consequences of various combinations of alternative monetary and fiscal policy rules for the new European Union (EU) countries in the process of their accession to the Euro zone. Building on the results of the second paper, the third essay computes optimal monetary and fiscal policy rules for these countries. |
