Title The Efficiency of EU Cohesion Policy: A Comparative Analysis
Summary This paper analyses the impact of the EU Structural and Cohesion Funds – together called the Cohesion Policy - on the Member States’ economic performance. However, it is a complex and controversial issue, which has been disputed among scientists, since the EU subsidies are in all cases an additional stimulus for the economies, but not the only factors.
Two Member States, Ireland and Portugal are taken under the loupe in order to get a coherent picture on the efficiency and effectiveness of the EU Funds.
