| Summary | This thesis argues for the importance of socio-political context in securitization theory by exploring the Holodomor discourse in contemporary Ukraine. The thesis demonstrates that without embedding the Holodomor discourse in a broader Ukrainian identity discourse, the meaning of Holodomor denial as a societal security threat would be missed. |
