| Summary | This thesis deals with eighty fourth-century epitaphic funeral monuments from Salona, the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. The focus is on epitaphs, analyzing them within their context, and the four dimensions of funerary monuments are taken into consideration: the verbal, pictorial, physical and the location. They are examined from the point of view of religious and social identity. |
