| Title | The Orjuna in Vojvodina: A Case of Fascism in a Multi-ethnic Environment |
| Summary | This is a study of the ideology of the Organisation of the Yugoslav Nationalists (Orjuna), that examines the impact of its ideology on the population of Vojvodina. The period it covers are the first years after the First World War when the newly created Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes was establishing its governance over this region. The study analyses the ideological concepts on which the Orjuna was based and the implementation of these ideas in Vojvodina. The focus of the study is the reflection of the ideology on the multi-ethnic relations in the region. In that manner, the focus has been placed on the notions of unity and the heroic cult in the construction of Orjuna's national self-image. Additionally, the thesis analyses the relations of the nationalists towards the non-Slavic minorities and their role in the post-war society. The results of the study have shown that in its core, the ideology of the Orjuna in Vojvodina had an anti-Habsburg character. |
