| Title | THE 1932-1933 HOLODOMOR VICTIMS' OFFICIAL COMMEMORATION AND POLITICS OF MEMORY IN CONTEMPORARY UKRAINE |
| Summary | This thesis is a case study of the 1932-1933 Holodomor victims’ official commemoration in 2006-2009 in Ukraine. In 2006 the Parliament of Ukraine (Verkhovna Rada) passed the Law proclaiming the 1932-1933 Holodomor (Great Famine) genocide of Ukrainian nation. It started an official campaign on the Holodomor victims’ commemoration. In my thesis I explore the content of commemorative practices, main images and notions used in official discourse. |
