Title The Effect of Fertility and Abortions on Female Employment Rate
Summary The research scope of this thesis is to analyze the effect of fertility and abortions on female employment rate. The female employment rate is a very important economic indicator of the welfare of countries because in many developed economies, women contribute considerably to the production of the GDP. Thus, governments try to increase this participation ratio and thereby improve welfare of countries. The study is based on the data across 20 countries for the 2000-2008 time periods. The results of the estimation show positive and strong enough relationship between fertility and female employment rate and also positive, however weak, relationship between abortion rate and female employment rate. The conclusion is that both, fertility and abortions have an overall positive effect on female employment rate.
