| Summary | I discuss the main tenet of Jean Jacques Rousseau's political philosophy, namely the 'General Will', and its regulative role within political society. I argue that, even though there seem to be some problematic assumptions that need to be made, Rousseau's ideal society appears to be a consistent ideal, in principle. |
