Title ENSURING JUDICIAL INDEPENDENCE THROUGH APPOINTMENT OF JUDGES BY COUNCIL FOR THE JUDICIARY: GEORGIA, FRANCE
Summary The thesis will illustrate the important role of the judicial independence within a state. It will concentrate on the system of appointment of judges – as one of the crucial components influencing autonomy of the judiciary. After determining one of the best ways of appointment of judges - through an independent body such as the Council for the Judiciary, the paper will answer the question whether such councils are in fact effective instruments in ensuring judicial independence.
