Title Is Apple Ripe for the Picking? Dissecting the Legal and Economic Implications of Apple's iTunes Model
Summary The intention of this paper is to analyze the competitive implications of the iTunes model through the application of legal theories and economic models. This paper offers observations on how the field of law and economics relate in the investigation of the factors that affect competition, antitrust and economic efficiency. Further, the paper emphasizes that an application of both the legal theories and economic models in the same context, albeit their differences in mechanisms and approach, is complementary, and thus, ideal in fostering a deeper understanding and strengthening the position on the subject matter.
