CEU eTD Collection (2014); Hutton, James Stanley: Constructivism and Realism in C. S. Peirce

CEU Electronic Theses and Dissertations, 2014
Author Hutton, James Stanley
Title Constructivism and Realism in C. S. Peirce
Summary Peirce's commitment to a 'constructivist' theory of truth seems to stand in conflict with his 'realism' about the natural world. This essay investigates his theory of truth, and its relation to inquiry, and thereby formulates an interpretation of Peirce's thought in which 'constructivism' and 'realism' are coherently combined
