Summary The thesis explores how Responsibility to Protect doctrine influenced humanitarian intervention. A historical overview of humanitarian intervention is provided. Three case studies are analyzed: those of Libya, Côte d’Ivoire and Syria. Several recommendations on how to improve the doctrine are included.
