Title 'Galatasaray has been a common tombstone for us': Politics of Truth Seeking and Saturday Mothers Phenomenon of Turkey
Summary This thesis seeks to evaluate transformative potential of truth as well as politics of truth-seeking in transitional context with reference to the case of Saturday Mothers of Turkey. While doing this it explores, first, the historical, political and legal structure of Turkey regarding the Kurdish question. Secondly, it outlines the forced disappearances with regards to international law and in Turkish context. Finally, this thesis moves to theoetical investigations and discusses politics of truth-seeking as a subversive category. Finally, this thesis discusses the Saturday Mothers of Turkey under the light of theoretical and historical investigations.
