| Summary | The thesis discusses the possibility of applying transitional justice mechanisms in a reconciliation process, which can address past wrongdoings associated with the Turkish-Kurdish conflict in Turkey. It asks the question: Which transitional justice mechanisms are viable to initiate a reconciliation process in Turkey in the context of the Turkish-Kurdish conflict? It argues that the dynamics of the conflict make it impossible for criminal trials to serve such a role, and points towards the potentials of truth-seeking measures to initiate a reconciliation process. |
