| Title | Case Study of Royal Piety in Fourteenth Century - The Story of the Shrine of Saint Simeon |
| Summary | This thesis examines the case of Queen Elisabeth Kotromanic (1339-1387) and her gift of the shrine of Saint Simeon. It follows the development of the cult of Saint Simeon in Adriatic, with the focus on the city of Zadar. The last chapter deals with the act of donation, raising question about the motivation of the Queen. The goal of the thesis is to re-examine all the available sources, and with the help of new methodological approaches, offer a more balanced view on the Queen's act of donation. |
