Summary The aim of this thesis is to drill down into the world of innovations within insurance industry in order to get the reader familiar with the current concepts, trends, technologies and business models. Theoretical part is meant to be a valuable contribution to any further study that is to be conducted in this field. It shows complete overview of all innovations segmented into different categories, for better understanding. Main players within each trend are also named.
Second part of the thesis is methodological and it focuses on the probable drivers behind insurance innovations worldwide. Analysis is very generic, grasping several variables to find potential correlations. Ordered Logit method is used for estimations of the effects that variables have on the level of technology development within insurance industry. Factors showing significant effects, such as legal environment and digital literacy, are used for policy recommendation purposes. Profound research analysis is conducted to dig out other relevant factors that are potentially of a great significance for innovations within insurance sector, and for entrepreneurship as a whole.
