Title Roadblocks to Application of Blockchain in Indian Agriculture- A study on Madhya Pradesh
Summary The thesis attempts to create a preliminary study of the government of India's vision to implement the technology of blockchain in Indian agriculture, with a focus on the state of Madhya Pradesh.
The subject matter of the thesis is to draw parallels with the previous attempts of the government to use technology for improving agricultural productivity and quality of life of the population dependent on it. Further, the field work conducted in different agro-economic zones of the state of Madhya Pradesh attempts to study the understanding of various stakeholders vis-a-vis blockchain application in agriculture. In doing so the key focus lies in studying the foundation of blockchain implementation in agriculture- Bank accounts, unique identity number (AADHAR) and mobile phone connectivity.
Based on the observation and study conducted, possible roadblocks to the implementation of blockchain technology in agriculture are identified, their probable causes stipulated and policy solutions are suggested.
