| Title | Self-representations and argumentation in letters of Soviet audience to Mass Media in 1988-1989 |
| Summary | The research is focused on the ways of self-representations and usage of personal experience in the letters to Mass Media in the late 1980s in the Soviet Union. Research question is how people perceived the changes, which happened around and how they tried to build their argumentation, concerning those events in the Soviet public sphere and writing to abroad. The Socialist system started to collapse and one of the basic problem was the bankruptcy of Marxism and loss of credibility by the Communist Party. People felt that the system was discredited, but felt stability till the times, when it started to criticize itself. The perception toward this collapse appeared in the letters and ways of self-representation, which people used and is considered in this research. |
