Title | The impact of US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) finalized rule 22e-4 Liquidity Risk Management on Open-end mutual funds |
Summary | The report aims to disclose the reason behind adopting the new SEC rule, its impact on the performance of open-ended funds and which changes it made in open-ended funds regulations. The new SEC rule was adopted to help the open-ended funds, ETFs to ensure that they can meet their obligations and redeem the investors’ shares when needed. It guides the funds on managing their holdings to meet future and current obligations and helps them to satisfy their obligation to redeem investors’ shares in a timely way. The report will first introduce the mutual funds, ETFs and the liquidity of open-ended funds and what issues it faced before adopting the new SEC rule. Moreover, it will assess the ways how the new SEC rule controls the open-ended fund liquidity. |
