Title Roberto Caracciolo da Lecce's Sermons as a Source for the History of Religiosity and Culture of Late Fifteenth-Century Italy
Summary A monographic study on the life and works of Roberto Caracciolo da Lecce (1425-1495), one of the most celebrated preachers and the most printed one in fifteenth-century Italy. The thesis is also an attempt to use sermon collections as a source for contemporary religious and intellectual history, by means of three case studies regarding: the preacher's view of culture, theological debates on hell and the discourse on superstitions.
