Title Gender-based Violence in Conflict Areas: Perspective from India and Pakistan
Summary Gender-based violence in conflict areas is not just violence against individuals, but often a crime against humanity and a weapon of war. In conflict areas of India and Pakistan, gender-based violence continues to be an issue that leads to human rights violation. This thesis looks at how violence is committed by both the militants and well as the armed forces, the different kinds of violence meted out, international and domestic law dealing with gender-based violence and what are the loopholes in the domestic laws in comparison to international law standards.
