Title Climate Litigation on the Rights of Displaced Individuals
Summary Climate litigation covers actions brought before courts worldwide in order to mitigate and compensate the damages and protect the individuals and communities affected by climate change and climate change induced events. While in the last decade climate change induced effects became more severe, climate litigation has also become a useful tool for victims to seek protection for their fundamental rights and for holding accountable those responsible. Climate litigation takes many forms but within the scope of this thesis, the rights of the individuals displaced by climate change induced events will be at the center. Groundbreaking cases at the international and regional levels will be analyzed.
