Title Impact of socio-cultural factors on women's access to higher education in Pakistan
Summary The aim of the study is to explore the socio-cultural barriers women face in Pakistan and the influence on tertiary enrollment rate. The study employs a qualitative approach involving the collection of primary data in order to examine the girl’s perceptions of and experiences with the socio-cultural factors that influenced their admission into higher education institutes in Pakistan. For qualitative research interviews were conducted to examine the socio cultural obstacles girls’ face in getting admission into higher education in Pakistan. Semi structured interviews were collected from seventeen (17) respondents that includes experts, parents, drop outs, university and college going girls. Interviews were comprehended by means of thematic coding analysis.
