Title Political Implications of Assertions of Digital Sovereignty in Russian Strategic Planning Documents
Summary This thesis sets out to examine assertions of digital sovereignty of the Russian Federation and its potential political implications. In this study strategic planning documents are investigated with a single case study as a research method. The study is designed according to the principles of the qualitative research design, the descriptive research strategy is chosen in this paper. The unique case of Russian information policy and formation of its digital sovereignty reflected in the official documents which constitute data analyzed in the empirical section of this study. The author finds that in relevant strategic documents including information security section of the National Security Strategy contains some ideological implications. It is suggested that new stage of digital security in the Russian Federation contains ideological implications and political views on the world order and cyberpshere.
