Author Nick Warmuth
Title The American War Crimes Trial Of Flossenburg Concentration Camp, 1946-1947
Summary This dissertation examines the American military trial of the largely unknown Flossenbürg Concentration Camp, between 1946 and 1947. Through the use of extensive and hitherto underutilized records from the US military commission courts at Dachau, Warmuth explores the trial proceedings to provide critical insight into the nature, course, and consequences of prosecuting war criminals. He argues that what unfolded in the courtroom over the course of seven months was a unique exception to the norm and thus challenges the prevailing knowledge of the so-called Dachau atrocities trials program.
