| Title | Political And Economic Effects Of Migration On The Sending Countries: Lessons From Kosovo |
| Summary | This research analyzes the effects of migration in sending countries, with special focus on the case of Kosovo. The latter has a relatively long and intense migration history and represents a case where migration has had an important impact. The research reviews the main existing views on migration effects on the sending countries, and sheds light on the characteristics of Kosovo through the analysis mechanisms of the structuralist and neo-classical theories on migration. By confronting the main arguments of the optimistic and pessimistic approaches on the effects of emigration, this research utilizes the context-specific data and arguments to show that migration has more complexity and nuances beyond one-dimensional approaches and theories. Therefore, it aims to demonstrate that measuring the emigration effects needs a pluralistic approach. |
