Title Project Baltic Xpress
Summary Hussar & Co. Inc. is a US-based corporation that specializes in providing niche solutions to the energy and infrastructure markets in Central Europe. Currently, the company is engaged in developing renewable energy infrastructure and providing alternative fuel supply and distribution to Central Europe.
H&Co. is dedicated to supporting Europe's energy independence through niche scalable investment strategies and local partnerships. The company actively set a path to develop photovoltaic assets in Central Europe before Russian-Ukrainian war interrupted this strategy. H&Co. recognized the immediate need for stable energy supply in Ukraine and commenced efforts to supply conventional energy to markets in crisis.
As a consultant, I’m involved in H&Co.’s strategy to create a tailor-made intermodal delivery solution for customers seeking fuel supply with an intermodal as its backbone for door-to-door delivery. This approach allows H&Co. to serve the Ukrainian market with volume, lower cost, and consistency.
With regards to the Capstone assignment, the company outlined a plan for me to conduct a Railway versus Trucks versus Intermodal analysis for Project Baltic XPress. The goal of this assignment is to develop a viable transportation strategy that can be presented to co-investors for funding a more comprehensive transportation strategy. The ultimate goal is to increase shipments from 1,000 metric tons per month to 5,000 metric tons per month within a 12-month period and to determine how to finance this volume ramp-up.
The Capstone Project involves an in-depth analysis of these steps and factors to determine the overall complexity and cost of the intermodal fuel delivery process. The findings are presented in a comprehensive report and in a pricing model, which will provide insights into both rail and truck transportation solutions.
