Title Fostering a Safe and Inclusive Academic Environment: Implementing Effective Anti-Harassment Policies at Nazarbayev University
Summary This project investigates the need for and implementation of anti-harassment policies at universities, with a specific focus on Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan. Despite advancements in gender equality, harassment remains a significant issue that sustains inequality. Addressing gender-based violence in educational institutions is essential.
Nazarbayev University, a leading institution in Kazakhstan, is dedicated to developing a robust anti-harassment policy. This project aims to craft such a policy through comparative analysis with institutions like the National University of Singapore, the University of Malaya, and the American University of Central Asia, incorporating insights from GenderSAFE and UniSAFE. Additionally, it integrates best practices from successful policies at the University of Melbourne, University College London, the University of Glasgow, and Central European University, while adapting them to Kazakhstan's context.
