Title Resource Optimization: Forecasting Engineering Capacity and Planning Material Availability
Summary This thesis explores how predictive analytics can improve resource planning for complex infrastructure projects involving Free Cantilever Traveller (CFT) systems. Historical engineering logs, project schedules, and material requirements were combined to develop a decision support tool in the form of two interactive dashboards built in Power BI. These tools forecast monthly engineering availability using time-series modeling (Prophet) and simulate stock levels of critical materials like longitudinal frames. The dashboards incorporate business logic and automated alert systems to help project planners proactively address capacity constraints and procurement needs. The solution enhances visibility, supports timely decision-making, and lays a scalable foundation for future CRM and real-time data integration.
