Title Candidate Selection Patterns in the 2010 Hungarian Parliamentary Elections
Summary The paper argues that candidate selection method matters of its own and in an organizational perspective as well. Moreover the paper demonstrates that candidate selection process, as one of the defining function of parties (Sartori 2005) is an organic process and embedded to the organizational characteristics of the party. The paper finds that age, history and organizational commitments and values, and the organizational structural characteristics of the party are important factors of candidate selection method choices.
